The Ozark National Forest has a lot of great ATV trails throughout it's
Ranger Districts. The areas are broken into six different Ranger Districts.
If you follow this link, http://www.fs.fed.us/oonf/ozark/recreation/ohv.html
to the Ozark National Forest web page and page down to the bottom of the
page, there are maps of the six different Ranger Districts displaying towns,
highways, rivers, creeks, numbered county roads and numbered ATV trails.
The total area extends from North Central Arkansas around Mountain
View, north of interstate 40, south of the Buffalo River and west to the
Arkansas-Oklahoma State line. If you like canoeing, there is the Mulberry
River, Piney Creek and other various creeks. There are private campgrounds,
as well as state park camping in the area. The riding terrain is mountainous
and very rough on a lot of the trails, but a lot of fun to ride and there is also
a lot of great creeks to ride through.

Wagon Wheel, WV, its located about 1 hr. past Bluefieldon S.R. 52.  When you get to Bluewell WV look for a wide spot on your right you'll see them unloading. The wagon Wheel is about 15 miles from there.  There's other places to park but that's the easiest to give directions. Wagon Wheel is the name of the store they sell food and gas there and there is a campground, but its roughing it no showers or bathroom. There is other stores in the woods only accessible by atv. Anyway there is lots of riding there and it don't cost anything. It has it all, hills and lots of mud. Everyone in the area knows where its at so if you get lost just ask for the Wagon Wheel and they'll point you in that direction. They usually have poker runs on holidays  and on Memorial day they have a pig picking that's usually crowded.

The area I was referring to is located about 15 miles north of Thesselon
Canada.  If you take hwy 17 east toward Sudbury you cant miss Thesselon.
      >from there I think its Hwy 29 (not sure, I will look all this stuff up on a
map) north.  Its the only main Hwy going north.  I stayed in a rustic
campground,  There was a bathroom and a shower there, but they were'nt much.
There are lots of places to stay in Thesselon and there are a couple of other
campgrounds near where I stayed.  The reason I stayed where I did is because
I met a retired provincial police officer that loves to ride and that's where
he was staying.   Canada is loaded with trails.  The only requirement is that you
have to have proof of insurance on your machine and an approved helmet.   My
insurance agent sent me a standardized form.  this is not a problem.  Also a
GPS is a must otherwise getting lost would be real easy.

Timberline, Marienville, Rocky Gap, Willow Creek all are located in the Allegheny

which require a permit. The trails open Dec.20 for the winter season.

it. Camp anywhere you like in the forest with your pass.

Wisconsin
Clark and Jackson counties in central Wisconsin have some really nice trails through county and state forests.
There are several campgrounds with trail access, and a couple of them are less than $10 per night. There
is no fee to ride the trails (I believe state registration is required.) an between the two counties, there are
more than 200 miles. Some of it is kind of hilly, and there are some nice muddy and sandy play areas.

Ohio
A great place to ride in Ohio is Wayne National Forrest in

Windrock Mountain in Oliver Springs, TN. 250 mi. of trails on 73,000 acres. Plenty of mud, rock, creeks and beautiful scenery. Runs in to Royal Blue. Own by Coal Creek Mining Co. East TN

In east TN. there is a place called Tellico, which could be the extremetest

for your 4-wheeler. Steep climbs, mud, rock climbing, you name it andTellico
has it. It is outside of Tellico Plains, TN. just south of Knoxville and
Maryville TN. the fee is 7 dollars per person per day. I think on the honor
system as far as payment goes. 4wheeler mag. has been there several times,so
you know it is rough. only bad side is that this place is predominately for
trucks, jeeps and such, but there is a lot of ATV, and bikes up there.
have fun

Drummonds, TN

We have trails all over the place, and hills, and woods, and open places, and

a band stand, and now we've built an MX track and people are loving it! We're
stocking up on tires for boundaries and need some attractive covers for them.
We have a lot of trails and a lot of people but No sponsors.

Georgia

There is a great place to ride in northeast Georgia, the Huston Valley atv area. Lots of trails for the beginner and for the expert rider, a great place for the hole family. The nearest town to the atv area is Rockyface GA. To get to the atv area from I-75 at the Rockyface exit go north to 41 Hwy. threw Rockyface then turn left on 201 Hwy, then drive about a half a mile to Houston Valley road, then turn right then drive threw two stop signs, then drive to the foot of the mountain and take a left on Kapare Rd. Dr. to the end of the road, and you will be there.

Mississippi

Wanted to let you know there are some great places to ride in and around Hattiesbug MS. There is Rattle Snake Bay ATV trails in Desoto National Forest, which has miles of wooded trails, and alot of prepared jumps spread across several acres for the sportier minded riders. It has plenty of well groomed parking and is free for any one to enjoy. No helmet required, but is recommended. This is located just south of New Augusta MS off hwy 29.
Next is Little Tiger ATV trails in the Chickasawhay National Forest near Ovett MS. This is truly a nice place to ride for the mud minded rider. There is plenty of nice trails between the mud holes too. There is a $3.00  per day parking fee which goes to the upkeep of the trails, and if you ever ride here you will agree it is well worth it. It also has plenty of well groomed parking, and no helmet required but recommended.
Then we go to Bethel ATV trails, south of Wiggins MS. This is also in the Desoto National Forest and is a wonderful place for some leisurely trail riding. The trails are beautiful and well maintained but lack the edgy feeling because of the grooming .Parking, again, is well groomed and is free for any one to enjoy.

Calumet, MI. 49913

This was sent in by one of my site visitors.
I have a found a great place to ride for the central Virginia area. It's about 3 miles outside of Surry county. Coming from Hopewell, go all the way out to the end of route 10, and turn left. You will come to an intersection in Surry, you will turn right. It's about 3-4 miles from there and it's on the right. It is called Slade's.

A Missouri rider sent this one in: I have a perfect site for wheeling, it's at St. Joe State Park, about 1 hour south of St. Louis. We are looking for other people to join us. Also I have some private land with about 5000 acre's that connects to the Mark Twain National Forrest. If any one is interested they can contact me at T007@aol.com
Another rider: St. Joe State Park is a great place to ride. You can take anything from a dune buggy to a 4 wheel truck. It has tons of places to ride. Anything from sand dunes to mud bogs. It's only $2.00 per ORV and there are motels, hotels and restaurants to stay multiple nights.

A Oklahoma gentleman sent this in: Weyerhauser Properties is located in the direct southeast corner of Oklahoma, the main access Highways are Hwy 259 and Hwy 70. The two largest towns in the area are Idabel and Broken Bow. Hwy 259 and Hwy 70 intersect in the middle of Broken Bow. Hwy 70 turns into Hwy 3 and continues on west to the town of Antlers, OK which is 55 miles to the west. Riding is allowed anywhere north of Hwy 3 to about 13 miles east of Antlers. Anywhere north for about 50 miles. Just don't cross any major highways. Lots of improved dirt roads, non improved logging roads, trails, creeks, rivers, mountains, pine plantations, hardwoods bottoms. Southeast Oklahoma is mostly property of the Weyerhauser Timber Corp. and John Hancock Mutual Life about 400000 acres. They just turned over the land management to the Oklahoma Dept. of Wildlife Conservation  to enforce rules and regulations. There is a $16.00 yearly land use fee for OK residents, and $25.00 non residents. You are able to camp anywhere you see fit, hunt, fish, site-see. Most weekends we put up to and sometimes over 100 miles on our 4 wheelers, without seeing anyone else. All roads are numbered and easy to follow.

The U.S forestry has now opened it's lands to ATV use, As long as the Atv
riders don't cut new trails. Now just about all of Southeast Oklahoma is
open to the ATV and Off road riders.
Southeast Oklahoma is cris-crossed with logging roads, which are only
maintained when that road has to be used. Which leave Miles and Miles of
roads which receive very little use, and makes good riding. Some of the
Northern mountain road are only accessible by 4x4 or four wheeler, which
make for great riding. Lots of wildlife and country to see, one weekend is
not enough time to be able to see it all.
Many four wheel drive clubs use the Northern Mountains for their club runs,
the Northern Areas Or Mountains was logged over many years ago and the Roads
receive little maintenance, reduced to little more than a trail.
The Northern Mountain would make perfect place for club events or poker runs
and so forth, Terrain changes from mile to mile.

A Northern Wisconsin rider sent this to me. In northern Wisconsin near a town called Hurley there is some great riding. Everything for all levels of riders, mud to railroad right of ways. With some work one can ride up to 500 miles with connecting trails. This does not include the trails that go into Michigan.

We have found a great place to ride in central Louisiana. It is an abandoned army camp where they used to train foot soldiers. It is now a National Forest area now and very good to ride. There are several trails marked off about 30 miles in length. So pack a cooler. It is near Forest Hill, Louisiana and a great place to take the family and camp out for the weekend. If you would like any further info on this area please E-Mail me at cricket@iddconnect.net
